An independent record label built from the underground up. Yangon, Myanmar.
Local Suicide Records is an independent music label based in Yangon, Myanmar. Founded after Terror Bass earned Myanmar's first Billboard Platinum Music Award in 2017, LSR was built on a simple belief: Myanmar has world-class talent, and that talent deserves a world-class platform.
The label operates across bass music, trap, hip-hop, and electronic genres — a deliberate refusal to stay in one lane. LSR artists push hard at genre boundaries, drawing from international underground movements while staying rooted in the cultural reality of Southeast Asia.
With 18 artists on the roster, LSR has grown from a personal project into Myanmar's most ambitious independent label. Each member brings a distinct perspective, and together they form a collective that is greater than the sum of its parts.
The label handles artist management, release strategy, merchandise, and live bookings — a full-service operation built for the independent era. No major label politics. No compromise on creative vision.
Sai Htet Wai, known as Terror Bass, is a Yangon-born music producer and label founder. In 2017, his collaboration with global bass music heavyweights Lil Jon and Skellism — "In The Pit" — earned a Platinum Music Award from Billboard, making him Myanmar's first artist to receive this recognition on an international stage.
The award validated what Terror Bass had long believed: that Myanmar's music scene was ready for the world. Local Suicide Records was the answer — a label designed to give that scene a proper home and proper infrastructure.
Beyond LSR, Terror Bass continues to operate as an international bass music project, carrying Myanmar's sound to global audiences.
No major label backing. No compromises on creative direction. Every decision made in the interest of the artists and the music.
Eagles don't fly with pigeons. LSR signs artists who operate at a level above — in talent, in work ethic, and in vision.
LSR is more than a label — it's a crew. 18 artists who push each other, support each other, and build Myanmar's music culture together.
